Porto Cristo on the southeast coast is a naturally grown port town, also known as the port of Manacor. In summer it is very busy for tourists, in winter it becomes again a small fishing village. The area is known for its numerous caves, the Cuevas del Drac, which played an important role as protection during pirate raids in the past and are now one of the sights of the island. Around the port there are good restaurants that offer mainly fish dishes and tapas. In the harbor you can rent boats or just walk along the pier. The fine sandy beaches of Cala Mandia, Cala Malgrana and Cala Anguila are only a few minutes away by car.
