Makkinga had already been a household name in the Lochem region for over 20 years when Jenne de Haan and his colleague Marcel Schippers joined the company in April 2011. Under the name De Haan Schippers, we have continued to build an excellent reputation. The town of Lochem and its surroundings, in the northern part of the Achterhoek in the eastern Netherlands, is known as a lovely place to live. The village of Gorssel is situated on the IJssel, the most beautiful river in the Netherlands, halfway between the charming old Hanseatic towns of Deventer and Zutphen. From about a century ago, Lochem and Gorssel became popular with wealthy entrepreneurs who wanted to build new residences in a pleasant natural environment.
