The municipality of Leutasch is located in the Innsbruck-Land district of the Austrian state of Tyrol and stretches across a sunny high plateau at an altitude of approximately 1,136 meters. With around 2,500 inhabitants, Leutasch is one of Tyrol's smaller, but geographically very spacious, municipalities. The Leutasch Valley, roughly 16 kilometers long, opens from the foot of the Wetterstein Mountains to the border with Germany near Mittenwald and impresses with its open valley landscape, surrounded by forests, alpine pastures, and imposing mountain peaks.
